Valentines Day x Super Bowl 2027: Restaurant Preparation

Super Bowl LX is almost here. It will be happening February 8th, at 3:30 pm PST. The Super Bowl is a busy day for delivery and sports bars. I remember getting the day off in high school when I worked as a host. This is all to say restaurants and dining are not busy on the second Sunday of February.

A day I did not get off when I worked as a host was Valentines Day. We had changed the rules of dining for the evening to accommodate more customers. It was so hectic, and by far the busiest day I have ever worked. January is the slowest time of year for restaurants. That could be from many reasons like resolutions for the new year or post-holiday spending cautions. Until it is February 14th, Valentines Day, the early months are dead.

Valentines Day is huge for local economies. The dead month and a half leading up to Valentines Day is a great time to take advantage of promoting deals and offers for the love day.

There is a reason why I am writing about Valentines Day and the Super Bowl. Next year, in 2027, Super Bowl LXI will be on February 14th. It is important to know this now, so you can start preparing.

Months Preparation

In the last two years, dining in January has actually increased. This contradicts my statement above about using January as buffer and preparation time. The Super Bowl being on Valentine’s Day could decrease business, which is why it is important to know now.

Restaurants should start promoting Valentine’s Day deals and offers early. It is always a good idea to run ads on social media for marketing. Valentines Day x Super Bowl is a year away, so there is time to think of strategy and game plans.

Promotions

There are many ways to use this day as a new opportunity. For example, you can advertise your restaurant as a “sports-free” zone to those who may feel indifferent to sports overall. There is also opportunity to invite couples into your establishment, who want to watch the game. If the restaurant is big enough, think about separating sections to accommodate guests.

Valentines Day and the Super Bowl happening on the same day will be challenging to figure out, but it is new chance for restaurant promotions and deals. Try new things to conquer the weird day. Different cities can try new things. The East Coast has all morning, make Brunch deals.

I see endless opportunities for this wild mashup. It is important to take note now about this day to start preparing and figure out promotions. Speciality dining is always desirable to customers, people like feeling special.
