Introduction to Food Rage

Hello and welcome to Food Rage!

Food Rage is a blog that covers trends surrounding food, restaurants, and sustainability. I will be covering these topics through a public relations lens.

I am excited to start blogging about food trends, sustainability and restaurants. From Matcha to food waste, I plan on covering an assortment of topics, but all will be related to Public Relations.

I find it important to know where your food is coming from, and that it should be held with pride. Farm-to-table is a trend, that is very prominent in the Pacific Northwest. I will be exploring trends across the country, from cuisine type to food items found in grocery stores.

Public Relations is always changing and adapting with our world. Social Media has also changed how the world views food. Employees can post health code violations online which can change the reputation of an establishment overnight. I believe that there is also good that can come from this exposure now.

I have worked in restaurants and grocery stores since I was 16. I’ve worked at local and big corporations. It’s inspired me research more into the differences. There are similarities as well and I am excited to dive into those more on this blog.

It is important to note that food is political. We are living in a time where food scarcity/hunger is a serious issue among 1 in 7 Americans (Feeding America.) Food Waste has contributed to this issue, which is why sustainability is so important to me.

Food is not just about eating; it has never been. History has proved this overtime. Britain colonizing India for spices is the first to come to mind, and it proves this point.

I will be providing resources in each blogpost. I will also have a “resource” page that has a pool of links. It will contain food banks and hotline numbers. Nobody deserves hunger.

I am very excited to start posting, I plan on my second official post to be released this week! I will be covering regional food/dining trends, and why they trend by location. The “why” is the most important part, because that’s where the PR comes in.

Understanding trends can further develop restaurants and understanding audiences. This is why PR is so fun, you get to dive deep into fun worlds.

Thank you for reading my first post, I have a lot of visions for this blog, and I hope that this isn’t the last time you’re reading my words.
